Interesting story. the preface sets up a possible epic world building series, then the story begins....A group of adventures get together for an adventure competition. They take the name of Heros of Time, as a lark and joke. Little did they know that it would be a leap into greatness.
they stumble thru adventures with the grace and humor of newbie's world around.

First of all the cover artwork is fantastic and with such cover artwork, the writing better be stellar. I'm not particularly fond of the genre but will read it if it appears the writing is strong. For example, I've never got through a Harry Potter novel. There's a lot of nice things going on in Harry Potter but the writing -- to my mind -- the writing is kid's stuff.
Not this book.
I would not be surprised to learn the author is also the artist who created the cover. Whoever she is, she's a poet who uses words the way an artist uses a palette. I especially like how she introduces things in a scene. For example, where a weaker writer would write "The farmer turned to see a squrril" this author writes, "He heard a twig snap and turned to see a squrri."
The sensibility added by adding the sense of hearing "twig snapped" is what effective writing is all about.
Of course some of you may recall Twain took Defoe to task for twigs snapping all the time, but that's OK.
I'm giving this book five-stars even though I haven't finished it or know the genre. Personally, I think it's under-priced at $2.99 but understand this might have something to do with the glut of fantasy books.
Should be great for your -- grab it, you won't be sorry, then when you finish let your kids read it, they'll love it!
I read a lot and some of the books I have read of this genre are so obviously targetted for children they make a tame read for an adult. Not so 'The Heroes Of Time'. Well written and beautifully descriptive, everything comes magically alive as you feel yourself inside the story!
Unfortunately, the best thing I can say about The Heroes of Time is that it’s short. It's a quick read. And if you're looking for a quick fantasy read and mistakes don't bother you, then you might enjoy the story.
For me there are just so many mistakes throughout this book that it actually interferes with the flow of the story. Misspelled words, improper tenses, and poor word choices are littered throughout the pages that it was, for me, difficult to keep reading. If you aren't bothered by mistakes like that, it is a very good attempt at a fantasy novella. I got the impression was that it was a beginning writer, who would have been better served with a professional editor to help. However, they are selling this book, and I can't recommend paying for it.
Hopefully, this writer will find a better editor for their next book, because they have some greats ideas hidden away.
After reading the description of this book I wanted to like it, but as I read it, there were just too many errors that distracted me from the story.

This series would be great to read to 10-14 year olds or for them to read, IF you took out the few expletives and fixed the incorrect word choices. The occasional grammatical error usually doesn't bother me, but in this book the mistakes were often enough to be distracting. For example, one line read, "Hey, Rebecca, it looks you're have a lot of fun." Often, the wrong tense was used for the verbs. I agree with one of the other reviewers, this book is a promising rough draft.

I have very mixed feelings about this book...I really liked the magical world and potentially epic storyline, but the writing itself was distracting. I felt at times like I was reading a high school creative writing assignment. The author over-describes everything, both in the dialog and the narration. Over and over I would think to myself that one word could have replaced an entire sentence, and the dialog was ridiculous at times "'Fine, let's just end all this tension, it's making me uncomfortable,' Jake agreed." ...having the characters or even the narrator starting the obvious all the time for annoying.
I hate to be so harsh though, because I really feel like this could be a great book/series with some revision and a great editor. (If they ever made it into a movie, I'm sure I'd love love it.) For readers...if a new revision is offered, give it a chance.
I picked this up on a free promo. I enjoyed it a lot. It's a light, easy read with a lot of humor.
I'm a sucker for a good dragon story, but this one needs a lot of work to get it into readable shape. First off, I enjoyed the story's direction but felt the writing needed improvement and maturity. I won't list the many grammar errors I found, the stilted dialogue or even the many formatting problems that would require a good editor to correct, but I will say that there is promise here. The structure is rough and needs polishing but with time I think this could be made into a fine book. I would advise the author to cut back on the proliferation of characters that are cropping up all over and concentrate on developing the main lead protagonists. For now, this isn't a story I'd recommend perfectionist readers, but if you don't mind awkward writing, you may find "The Hero's of Time" an entertaining read.
