At first, the author's obvious bias for the subjects of this book was off-putting and concerned me; I feared the portrayals of the subjects might not be wholly honest ones. But, in the book the author pointedly dealt with her bias and, in my opinion, did a good job of accurately portraying serpent handlers and their worship; I know several of the persons that the author writes about. There are a few typos, but otherwise, the book is a quick easy read and I congratulate the author on not padding the word count with extraneous content. I do recommend reading this particular book if serpent handling interests you.Product details

Love this book! It shows a side of this misunderstood religion that few people know. The book is very well written and interesting.
Just completed reading “Blind Faith” by Colleen Sexton. It is a fascinating journey into the often-misunderstood world of using serpents as part of one’s faith in God during a religious ceremony. Colleen has taken an outsider’s unbiased approach as she looked into this world that most do not understand, nor will ever have the chance to enter. It is a compelling story of several different families and pastors who utilize serpent handling as part of their faith. It is an enlightening, inside look of their beliefs, practices, and overwhelming faith in God. With Colleen’s intriguing, flowing writing style, as well as her occasional sense of humor throughout makes this a read that you do not want to put down. She has done an excellent job of shining a light on this misunderstood religious practice and their “true faith” in God. I feel that “Blind Faith” is a must read for those who want to take an extraordinary journey into the power of faith in God.
